When Mackenzie reached out, she wanted me to capture their very first photos as a family of four. Not your average stiff, posed portraits, but real, messy, heart melting moments. And honestly? Avila Beach was the perfect spot. It’s one of my forever favorites on the Central Coast with rolling waves, soft sand, and that golden light that makes everything feel a little more magical.
This session had everything I love, baby snuggles, belly laughs, sandy hands, and big sister showing off her new role like she was born for it. Mom and Dad kept it laid back, soaking in the chaos and sweetness of ever minute. That’s what family photos are all about, capturing the in-betweens, the real stuff you’ll actually want to remember.
As the light dropped lower, the whole beach turned golden. We played in the sand, chased each other down the shoreline, and ended the night by sprinting straight into the waves. (Because the best photos happen when you forget about staying perfect and just go for it.)
It was one of those evenings where you could feel how much fun everyone was having, and the photos carry that same energy — warm, carefree, and a little salty in the best way. Avila Beach, you nailed it again!
